Birthday Book

I've been invited to a surprise party for a good friend on the same night my daughter arrives. My daughter will only be here for 24 hours so I really want to spend the few hours we'll have alone at Disneyland rather than at the party. Well this friend has been admiring my word/shape books so I decided she is going to get one. Since she is a December *baby* I decided to use Christmas paper for the base paper. It's a more elegant Christmas paper so it doesn't look too Christmasy (is that a word?).

So far this one hasn't taken too long to do. I designed and cut out the chipboard and base pages yesterday and worked on the layers today. Now I have to work on the inside pages. I'll post those when I'm done.

I was asked to share what the pages look like before they're decorated. So here you go....

I used pop dots on some of the layers. You can't really see it from the top picture. I hope you can get the idea from these pictures.

Thanks for looking!

Give Thanks!!

Here is my latest shape book. I was originally making this one to give away to the youth group again, but I spent so much time on this one that I decided to give it to my daughter.

I had so much fun designing and making this one. I love my little farm boy and girl. I used the Recollections fall paper pack and embelishments. The primary carts are PPDU, EDPD, DC, DT, SYI, Pooh and Christmas (for the window). The cut file is on the side bar. Thanks for looking!

Friends Word Book

I had to put together a drawing gift for the girl's youth group I'm involved with at the last minute. I designed and cut it out on Monday night, cut the letters and assembled it Tuesday morning and took some embelishments and paper to work and finished it Tuesday afternoon to give away Tuesday night! Phew, glad that's done. I would have added cute things cut with the E if I'd had time. Even though it's simple, I think it's pretty. I LOVE this paper. It's the DCWV Sweet pack. It's also great for making cards! The pastel paper is cardstock from Wal-Mart. Anyway, the girls loved it! If you want the DS cut file, let me know.

On the above 4 pages I liked the paper so much that I didn't add any photo mats. I figured the lucky winner could put a collage of pictures.
