Birthday Book-Finished

I finally finished the book and gave it to my friend at the surprise party on Saturday. We ended up staying for the party since we couldn't go to Disneyland because of rain. :( She was surprised and loved the book! It didn't take me 2 weeks to finish the book, it just took me 2 weeks to finally take pictures and post it!!

I added a lot more ribbon to this book's spine. I think I like it better this way.

I found these little charms at a LSS. I bought a bunch. They're so sweet and I think a great thing to add to these books. I'm always on the lookout for charms for this purpose.

I used Stickles to show off the embossing on the balloons and on the butterfly. The faces are from Peachy Keen Stamps. I used chalk to put the color on the cheeks. The paper dolls are meant to represent my friend and her husband.

I added the cat because the birthday girl has cats.

I embossed the tree and used evergreen Glimmerz on the entire upper part of the tree and then used teal Glimmerz to highlight the swirls.

For the flower I used Prima flowers and used this technique.

I wanted to make sure she had plenty of room for pictures so I made a pocket and put in a couple of tags. I used the same technique from above on these flowers too.

I used the same technique on the swirl embelishment. It's just a swirk I cut out using my Cricut.

Another tag.
I added Stickles to *Surprise* to make it pop.
I love comments!! Thanks for looking!

Birthday Book

I've been invited to a surprise party for a good friend on the same night my daughter arrives. My daughter will only be here for 24 hours so I really want to spend the few hours we'll have alone at Disneyland rather than at the party. Well this friend has been admiring my word/shape books so I decided she is going to get one. Since she is a December *baby* I decided to use Christmas paper for the base paper. It's a more elegant Christmas paper so it doesn't look too Christmasy (is that a word?).

So far this one hasn't taken too long to do. I designed and cut out the chipboard and base pages yesterday and worked on the layers today. Now I have to work on the inside pages. I'll post those when I'm done.

I was asked to share what the pages look like before they're decorated. So here you go....

I used pop dots on some of the layers. You can't really see it from the top picture. I hope you can get the idea from these pictures.

Give Thanks!!

Here is my latest shape book. I was originally making this one to give away to the youth group again, but I spent so much time on this one that I decided to give it to my daughter.

I had so much fun designing and making this one. I love my little farm boy and girl. I used the Recollections fall paper pack and embelishments. The primary carts are PPDU, EDPD, DC, DT, SYI, Pooh and Christmas (for the window). The cut file is on the side bar. Thanks for looking!

Friends Word Book

I had to put together a drawing gift for the girl's youth group I'm involved with at the last minute. I designed and cut it out on Monday night, cut the letters and assembled it Tuesday morning and took some embelishments and paper to work and finished it Tuesday afternoon to give away Tuesday night! Phew, glad that's done. I would have added cute things cut with the E if I'd had time. Even though it's simple, I think it's pretty. I LOVE this paper. It's the DCWV Sweet pack. It's also great for making cards! The pastel paper is cardstock from Wal-Mart. Anyway, the girls loved it! If you want the DS cut file, let me know.

On the above 4 pages I liked the paper so much that I didn't add any photo mats. I figured the lucky winner could put a collage of pictures.

Halloween Shape Book

I finally finished the Halloween shape book. I used the Recollection Halloween paper from Ms and the coordinating stickers and ribbon I had on hand.

I think I should put journaling lines here since the space is too small for pix. I've redesigned this so that these pages are larger.
These pages I left blank because I love the paper.
I added the moon with pop dots. It was a piece that I cut off of another piece of paper from the same pack.

I wish I had done more embossing. I just forgot!

Love this layout. Bugjunkies idea. I used a cuttlebug embossing folder to make the fence and boards look like wood, along with the Cricut markers and smugged ink.

Wasn't so excited about the paper I had on this page. Therefore I added one big background for a pic or pix and the cute little guy from the coordinating stickers.

Love this page with the black cat and spider to go with the witch. I had to make a mad dash to Michaels last night to get the white pen to finish the spider and cat and get smaller googlie eyes.
These are the last 2 pages. I used my MS punch for the "Boo". I also used Shimmerz on the moon to make it kinda glow but not covered with Stickles because I wanted the spider web to show through. Hope you can see it.
I love this book. Just wish I had a young child to give it too!!
Anyway, thank you Lisa (Bugjunkie) for the inspiration!!
